Schulze, Fedor

Illustrated in Dr. H. Ploss. Woman: An Historical Gynaecological and Anthropological Compendium, Burlington: Elsevier Science, 2014, p.309.  Captain Fedor Schulze (1836-1908) was a German military officer who served with distinction in the Dutch forces and settled in Batavia where he became a naturalised Dutchman. Amongst other publications he produced: Capt. Fedor Schulze, West-Java Traveller’s Guide (Batavia, 1894). He arrived in S.E. Asia in 1858 and retired from the military around 1888 and set himself up as a publisher and photographer.
