Sutton, Frederick (attributed to)

Early photograph attributed to the British naval officer and talented amateur photographer, Frederick Sutton. It is believed that Sutton sent his negatives to the British publishing firm, Frith & Co., a major photographic publishing house, that acted as his agent and distributor. There seems to have been a circle of British naval amateur photographers with whom Sutton socialised, including Walter Talbot Kerr, J. Pearson and J. Parkyn. It is conceivable that this photograph may have been taken by one of these individuals. Frederick Sutton (1832-83) is known as the photographer of the last Shogun. very good condition.
